These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of RandomFlix (“Service”), operated by RandomFlix (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account, accessing the website, or using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
You must be at least 13 years old to use RandomFlix. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you must be at least 16 years old or have verifiable parental consent as required by local law. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these age requirements.
Account authentication is provided by Clerk, a third-party identity service. When you create an account, you may sign up with an email address or through an OAuth provider (such as Google or GitHub). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as necessary. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.
RandomFlix is a movie discovery and recommendation platform. The Service allows you to receive random movie suggestions, filter results by genre, year, rating, and other criteria, maintain personal watchlists, rate movies, and receive personalized recommendations based on your interaction history.
RandomFlix does not stream, host, distribute, or sell movies or any video content. We are a discovery layer that connects you with information about films and links to third-party streaming services where movies may be available. We are not responsible for the availability, pricing, or quality of content on third-party streaming platforms.
The Service is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features, modify existing features, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice.
You may submit content to the Service, including movie ratings, review text, and custom movie lists. You retain ownership of your content but grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute it in connection with operating the Service.

The RandomFlix platform, including its design, code, branding, logos, and original content, is owned by RandomFlix and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our platform without our prior written consent.
Movie metadata, posters, trailers, and related information displayed on the Service are sourced from third parties and remain the property of their respective owners. You may not use this content outside of the Service without obtaining permission from the respective rights holders.
Movie metadata (titles, release dates, posters, cast, crew, genres, keywords, trailers, and certification data) is provided by The Movie Database (TMDb). This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb.
Additional movie ratings are sourced from OMDb API, which provides data from IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic. IMDb is a registered trademark of IMDb.com, Inc. Rotten Tomatoes and Tomatometer are registered trademarks of Fandango Media, LLC. Metacritic is a registered trademark of Fandango Media, LLC. RandomFlix is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these parties.
Streaming availability data is provided by the Streaming Availability API. Links to streaming services direct you to third-party platforms over which we have no control.
All ratings and streaming information are provided for informational purposes only and may not reflect real-time accuracy.
RandomFlix uses an algorithmic recommendation engine that generates personalized movie suggestions based on your interactions with the Service, including ratings, watchlist additions, watched history, hidden titles, skipped suggestions, and filter usage patterns.
Recommendations are generated algorithmically and do not constitute editorial endorsement or professional advice. We make no guarantee regarding the suitability, accuracy, or quality of any recommendation. Movie selection involves randomization and may not always align with your preferences.

We will not sell your email address to third parties or send unsolicited promotional emails unrelated to the Service.
You may delete your account at any time through the Account page (managed by Clerk). Upon account deletion, your personal data will be removed from our systems in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct that is harmful to the Service, other users, or third parties.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any movie data, ratings, streaming availability information, or recommendations provided through the Service.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RANDOMFLIX AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM:
Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD $100).
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RandomFlix and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction in the State of Delaware.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RandomFlix regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
